Intro blog

This year I am taking the A-level course for media studies. I am super excited and glad to have been put into this class again. Despite the challenge's with covid last school year I still thoroughly enjoyed taking this class. It was a difficult time but my group and I pushed through and did what had to be done. I learned so much last year through this course and it was somehow still enjoyable and fun. I can not wait to see what this year has in store. I can tell that my knowledge on media studies will expand and grow even more. I never was too interested in the subject of media studies, involving film, cameras, etc, till I took this class. Media studies really pushed me out of my comfort zone and had me involved in a course I never thought I would be in. Although I still do not think I would pursue this in college or as a career it has been a nice learning experience. I am very glad and grateful to have the opportunity to be apart of such a great program. I enjoyed how much freedom and creativity we had throughout the school year and I'm thrilled to expand on everything this school year. I know this year will be a lot of hard work but I'm ready. I've heard from past students how much they enjoyed taking the A-level of media studies. I hope this year goes as smoothly and nice as last year. It will be a bit different since the people I worked with last year did not all get into the A-level course. I continually worked with the same 3 people last school year. We were all friends and had good chemistry together. This year will be different but I will still be able to work with some of my friends. I am super excited and motivated to have a great hard working year for my A-level course.

Research Blog: Music Video

  The song we chose is a pop song written by Taylor Swift, it was released in 2009. The song is a love story about a type of out-of-reach love. In the original music video it shows an average girl comparing herself to a more popular girl. She realizes that the guy she likes deserves a lot better than the popular girl and believes she can appreciate and care for him more. Through-out the song even though she is naming all the materialistic differences between them, she always comes back to the fact that her, the "average" girl will always understand him more. The music video has a girl-next-door type of vibe,   y ou like this guy who you have for your whole life, and you know him better than she does but somehow the popular girl gets the guy every time.  For this project it did not take me very long to make the decision of who I would like to work with. The groupmates I will be working with are Paige Miranda, Daniel Miller,  and Lucas Di Campli. Last year I worked with Paige and a few other people. Lucas was my friend but he had a different group last year. Paige, Lucas, and I have all been good friends since freshman year. We all have good chemistry and I know we will work well together. Paige and I had a very smooth and easy time working together last year and we never ran into any problems. Last year I was very pleased with how well everything went and the grade we received from Cambridge. Even though we are all friends and know how to have a good time together, we also know when it is time to focus.
