Filming and editing blog

 My group and I are really excited to start filming our final project. We haven't started the process yet since we all have quite busy schedules were working around. Ella and I have soccer and my mom is sort of strict about seeing my friends on school nights. Also Paige works every day. As you can see we've had quite some time to plan since we haven't filmed yet. Our plan is to start filming this weekend. Another reason we waited is because we hadn't finished our storyboard until earlier this week. Paige works at a restaurant and has filmed there in the past so we are planning on filming there for this project. She needs to ask permission but they are pretty lenient and had no problems in the past. We've planned out everything we can think of that we need. The important things are walkie talkies and our other friends that will be in our film. Also the timing the restaurant will allow us to film at and talking to Ella's parents to let them know what day were filming at her house are key factors needed to start our process. We're hoping for smooth and easy filming. To ensure this we are going to practice and memorize  our lines to perfect our film. Since certain scenes are going to be outside we also have to think about the lighting and timing. At Paige's restaurant it is usually packed on Friday and Saturday night so we are going to try and work around that. There are two reasons we would want to film on a non busy day, one being Covid and two being that we want our time and to not be rushed by a bunch of people being at the restaurant.  Also while at Ella's we want to be alone with no distractions to help ensure everything gets done right. I'm not worried about our group being serious and getting the filming done. We've all worked together in the past and it's gone really well.

Genre research blog 3 - Suspense

  In suspense the camera movements are very important. Tilt is a very important camera movement in suspense. It shows the emotions in the film, by creating a questioning emotion through the screen. This allows the audience to feel the suspense from the film and the characters. Another camera movement used in a suspense film is zooming in. This shows the emotions of a character, which can create suspense for the viewer. Lighting is also important in a suspense film. Low-key lighting creates a dark tone that may make the audience concerned of what may happen. Camera angles often used in suspense are over the shoulder and close up shots. The over the shoulder angle creates a tension in the film, it makes the audience aware of what is happening to both characters. This will increase the suspense of the film for the audience. Genre research: Drama and Thriller

  Drama is another genre me and my group are interested in. The drama genre keeps us entertained. The drama keeps the characters in the dark. But keeps the viewers in the light and brings us, the audience, a world of insight and assurance. Even if we watch a disaster, we believe like we live more deeply through a character's heightened interactions, because not only is time compressed, but action and sense happen concurrently. The common lighting in this genre is low key lighting. The angles in the drama genre consist of wide angle, long shot, close up, extreme close up, two-shot, and over the shoulder. Also seen in this video is the common camera movements. The most common  mis-en-scenes are décor, lighting, costumes and makeup. Overall, we like how the drama genre is more enhanced.
